The ex-College coach was born as Michael Terrence Holland  on 2nd April,1942.

Holland was an American basket player, College  basketball coach as well as athletics administrator.

He began his coaching career  at Davidson College  between 1969 all the way to 1974.

From there, he moved on to the University of Virginia from 1974 to 1990. Terry Holland had an amazing statistic as coach with  418-216.

He is credited of having elevated the University of Virginia basketball to national prominence. He had 16 seasons as a coach.

The late 80 year old former coach later turned into an athletics administrator.

He entered into athletics after retiring from coaching. He worked as an athletics administrator at the Davidson College and this was between 1990 t0 1994.

He later joined Virginia from 1994, all the way to 2001.

He ended it all at East Carolina from 2004 to 2013.

Terry Holland had his education at the Davidson College and he graduated with a degree in Economics as far back in 1964.

He is said to have been coached in Davidson College by the famous and legendary coach, Lefty Dries

Terry Holland is said to have died at the age of 80 on Sunday,26th February,2023.

The former coach health deteriorated following his Alzheimer’s disease diagnoses in 2019.

This forced him out of his courtside seat during Virginia home games.

His death was announced by the Virginia University along with his family.
