Vicky Bowman was arrested on 24th August,2022 in Yangon. She was arrested along with her husband Htein Lin.
The reason for her arrest is not clear, but it follows fresh sanctions the UK imposed on the Military Junta.
The British Embassy in Myanmar is quoted to have said : “We are concerned by the arrest of a British woman in Myanmar. We are in contact with the local authorities and are providing consular assistance.”
