Who is El Shafee Elsheikh?
El Shafee Elsheikh is a Sudanese Islamist terrorist who was part of the atrocities of the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant.
He was born on 16th July,1988 in Sudan. El Shafee Elsheikh was popularly called Jihadi Ringo and was one of the famous Jihadi Beatles.
Elsheikh grew up and spent most part of his youth in London. He is reported to be a follower of a local football team, Queen’s Park Rangers, and had a dream of joining the team in future.
Why is El Shafee Elsheikh being convicted?
He was among the four ISIL Beatles who held European and North American citizens captive in 2014 and 2015.
They were brutal in their attack and held them under bad conditions.
He was named by the United States State Department, under Executive Order 13224 for his role in ISIL.
He was sentenced today 19th August,2022 for eight life sentences to be served concurrently.
