Who is DJ Vrusky?
He was born as Kofi Amoako and famed with the nickname DJ Vrusky. He is a Disc Jockey from Ghana, who was once the commercial manger of EchoHouse. His career as a DJ started on Starr Drive in 2014 and is the 2017 Ghana DJ of the year winner.

DJ Vrusky had his first degree at the University of Ghana Business School with BSc. administration. He also holds a a master’s degree in risk management and insurance from the same institution. His high school days was at the St. Thomas Aquinas Secondary School.
DJs are losing their power to social media platforms – DJ Vyrusky
Vrusky who is a four time winner of the ‘Best DJ of the Year’ at the Ghana DJ Awards believes Disc Jockeys are losing their power as key promoters of music.

He cited examples like TiTTok to buttress his point. He stated this in an interview on Guide Radio on Tuesday. He added that Disc Jockeys don’t have the exclusive privilege of ‘breaking’ or introducing new music to audience.
This he said is because musicians prefer to give their songs to social media influencers rather than DJs. This, he added has forced them to play trending songs so as to satisfy their audience.
“People go through TikTok. If you go out, every DJ wants to play the hit songs….When you go to a party and you’re playing songs, the audience go like, ‘play the songs trending now’. The club owner will be like ‘look sharp, people are leaving.”
