Who was Sergeant Rachel Fisk?
She was a 32 year old RAF instructor. The 32 year old had previously filmed other jumps before her tragic jump.
She was part of a team which were conducting an exercise with Norfolk Catering staff from the RAF Marham.
The RAF Instructor unfortunately recorded her final death.
She was filming her jump from a GoPro camera which she had fastened to her helmet.
How did Sergeant Rachel Fisk death happened?
The RAF Instructor jumped out of a plane that was flying above RAF Weston-on-the-Green.
There is a report from the Defence Safety Authority Service revealed the late 32 year old “air turbulence prevented Rachel’s parachute from opening”.
The report on her fatal crash were put together from her camera which recorded the whole episode.
The report further added that:
“Without this information the investigation would have been solely reliant on imagery captured at the scene post the accident”, the report said.
“The panel acknowledged that it would have likely made very different conclusions based on this information alone.”
At the time of her death, Sgt Fisk’s family said in a statement: “It is with great sadness that we mourn the death of our dear daughter, Rachel.
“She lived her life with joy and thoughtfulness for others and loved the career she had chosen.
“Rachel will be missed by so many.”
