Who was Oran Gethins?
He is a 23 year old man who is originally from Dromahair. He was the son of Sandy Gethins, his father and Maeve Gethins, his mum.
Oran was survived by his parents and Zach, his younger brother.
His father is a coach at the boxing club where he used to ply his career.
Gethins was staying at Sligo county specifically at Woodland Ballytivnan.
He was a boxer and has been described as a talented boxer for that matter.
The 23 year old boxer died from a crash at a location not far from his home in Sligo.
This happened during the early hours of Saturday. Oran Gethins was a proud member of the
“Sean McDermott’s boxing club in Manorhamilton” which is Leitrim county.

He is said to have won a title for his country at a tender age of 16.
Tributes pour him for Oran Gethins.
The young talented boxer is said to have received an award which was in recognition of his contribution to the club just last weekend.
Many have been paying tribute to him.
One of such is the one from his club which read: ‘’We are shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic passing of club member Oran Gethins. Oran started with us when he was seven years old and was a pleasure to train, always willing to learn and was a very respectful young lad inside and outside the ring.
“He won an Irish title for the club in 2016. His father Sandy is also a coach of our junior class. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his Dad Sandy, Mum Maeve and younger brother Zach, and also to the extended Gethins and Gallagher family at this heartbreaking time, Rest in peace champ.’’
They said: ‘’Gardai are appealing for witnesses following a fatal traffic collision in County Sligo on Saturday, April 22. Gardai at Sligo Garda Station are investigating the single fatal road traffic collision in the early hours of Saturday morning on a local road at Rathbraughan on the outskirts of Sligo town.
“A male in his early 20s was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased has since been removed to the mortuary at Sligo Hospital where a post-mortem will take place’’.
There is no funeral arrangement yet for the late 23 year old boxer.
