Who was Michael McDonagh?
He was a 53 year old native of Sligo and a former boxer.
McDonaght was a father of six children. He left Ireland for the UK after the seizure of his expensive home near Ballintogher, Sligo.
The Criminal Assets Bureau had to seized the property after it came out that he bought it from the proceeds of crime in the early 2000s.
This was proven beyond doubt.
Michael McDonagh died while on a holiday in Camber Sands,Sussex in South East England.
His murder occurred on 6th August,2022.
He was murdered with most of the people arrested in connection to his murder released on bail.

Michael was buried in a golden casket .
The lavish funeral was held in London with over 200 people in attendance.
Most of the people who attended the funeral came from Ireland.
There was also huge floral display around his casket.
Michael’s funeral took place at the Sacred Heart & Mary Immaculate Church in Mill Hill.
Family paid gloriously tribute for Michael McDonagh at his funeral.
The tributes revealed the “unimaginable” pain his family, especially that of his wife and children have had to deal with this “burden and ordeal”.
One of his siblings who spoke during the funeral said : “Michael would be very proud of them.
“Everyone of them, Michael himself, he loved his family. He adored them. He was a special man, he was unique, you’ll never get anyone like him again.
“And for a young family, the world can be cruel sometimes. This wasn’t the way Michael wanted to go out. Never. But that’s what happens.
“He was a loving husband and father.”
His brother further turned and looked at the casket and continued: “Michael, you’re a legend on earth. You’re a legend in heaven. And you’ll always be our legend forever, it was a privilege to have you as my brother. It was an honour to have you as my brother.”
Stephanie, McDonagh’s daughter expressed her gratitude to all who traveled far and near to be at his funeral.
She further spoke about her father, describing him as the “strongest person” she’s ever met and that he was the “life and soul of every party.”
Stephanie who also spoke after the service also pleaded with people to assist the police with information in order for them to get justice for the family.
She said: “He was there with his family and he should have had a nice time and he should have come home. And he didn’t.
“That could happen to anyone, it could happen again. If people know any information I hope they come forward so we can get justice.”
