Who was Carl O’Keeffe?
He was a 49 year old man from Lancaster.
O’Keeffe was at the Kong Adventure Centre which is in Keswick.
The 49 year old was celebrating a family member’s birthday.
He got trapped after he slipped and got stuck in one of the caves.
How did Carl O’Keeffe sustained injuries?
After he got stuck, staff from the centre tried to rescue him but failed. They finally had to called emergency service providers for help.

The Keswick Mountain Rescue,Great North Air Ambulance, Cumbria Ore Mines Rescue Unit,Cumbria Fire and Rescue,Northwest Ambulance Service’s Hazardous Area Response Team along with the police jointly worked in his rescue.
He was trapped for 4 hours and was rushed to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle.
He finally died on Saturday 30th April,2023.
