Who was Bill Turnbull?

William Robert Jolyon Turnbull  was a British television and radio  presenter as well as a Journalist.

He was born on 25th January,1956.

Bill Turnbull career in radio began with Radio Clyde and to BBC Radio 4 at their Today Program.

Before taking on the BBC Breakfast show, Turnbull had worked at BBC News 24 and BBC Radio 5 live.

Bill Turnbull started the BBC Breakfast in 2001 through to 2016. He had also presented the religious series of Songs of Praise as well as the game show.

Born to British parents with his father having Scottish ancestry, Turnbull had his education at Eton College and then later at The University of Edinburgh.

He worked with a campus Newspaper while at Edinburgh and graduated from Cardiff University in 1978.

What is Bill Turnbull cause of death?

Bill Turnbull disclosed in 2018 that he had been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer and is said to have died from same.

He died on 31st August in his home in Suffolk at the age of 66.

This is what his wife Sarah had to say:

“Our lovely Billy died yesterday evening almost five years after being diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer.

“The last week of his life was very special, as the whole family was with him and we shared some wonderful moments.

“Even though he was often in pain, Bill was dignified and brave throughout, and he was his usual determined self right to the very end

“Billy made us laugh every day and we are immensely proud of him – he was the heart of our family. It’s hard to imagine life without him.”
