Alan Healy was a 50 year old man.
He used to stay at Loughrea, in County, Galway.
He last left his home on Thursday afternoon, September1,2022.
He was declared missing and the police went on a search for him.
The official search for him was launched on Monday morning, which was aimed at finding him.
The search for Alan Healy was halted on Tuesday,6th September. This follows the discovery of his body.
Gardai had indicated that his family were concerned for his welfare. It is not clear if Alan Healy was suffering from a particular sickness or condition which needed special attention.
When and where was Alan Healy body found?
It was on Wednesday morning that the Garda spokesperson confirmed the cancellation of the search for Alan Healy.
He said this became necessary “Following the discovery of a body of a male in Loughrea, County Galway, on Tuesday, 6th September, 2022, the missing person appeal for Alan Healy has been stood down.
“No further information is available at this time.
“An Garda Síochána would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance with this matter.”
It is not clear what drove Alan Healy out from his home and what the caused of his death was.
