“My first instinct was to hit it first time, but it was coming at me fast,” Hulswit told FIFA+. “I managed to control it well and I just let fly. “It took a moment to sink in that I’d scored. Then I heard the crowd screaming and I thought, ‘Wow, I’ve scored in the World Cup.’ “All of this has been amazing. It’s not every day you play in a World Cup quarter-final. As soon as I found out I was starting I was really determined. I knew I would give my all to help the team. “But to score a goal like that and, most importantly, get the win was beyond my dreams. I’m really, really happy.”
