Who was the Louisville gunman that killed 5?
He is believed to be a former employee of the bank, police sources say. Police statement said:
“We believe this is a lone gunman who did have a connection to the bank.”
The gunman opened fire at bank in Louisville in Kentucky.
The shooting incident which started at 8.30 am in the morning left in its wake 5 people killed and 8 injured including two police men.
The Old National Bank where the incident occurred is located at downtown not far from the Slugger field.

The good news is that the gunman was killed.
But who was this gunman?
He is Connor Sturgeon. He is a 23 year old man. He is believed to be an employee or former employee. ‘
He has a finance background. Sturgeon completed the Alabama University with a Master of Science degree in Finance in 2020.
WHAS11 reports that witnesses told them that they saw a man with a “long assault rifle”.
This man whose face was not shown reportedly fired several shots on the first floor of the bank building.

They witnesses said:
“He just started firing,” one witness said. “I didn’t see his face. We were in the conference room. Whoever was next to me got shot, their blood’s on me.”
One witness who is a driver who stopped at the traffic light at the bank said: “I didn’t know if it was going at the bank or out of the bank, I took off,” she said. “When I turned, I saw that one of the windows in the bank had been blown out.”
The identity of the shooter who also has been killed have not been given. Police tweeted that the shooter had “been neutralized.”
The LMPD Deputy Chief Paul Humphrey who spoke said the “circumstances surrounding his death weren’t immediately known”.
Other witnesses said responding officers had to open fire on the gunman. One Caleb Goodlett said he got a call from his wife who works at the bank. She allegedly told him that there was a active shooter in the bank and she had to lock herself in a vault inside the bank. The husband had to call 911, but officers were at the scene.
CNN reports say one Hagan Curd who was walking his dog along the East Main Street on Monday morning said he saw “people running in his direction” adding that:
“I saw people running and then some others got out (of) their car and began to run as well,” Curd said. “Then I heard police yelling and telling people there was a shooter at the bank and to back away.”
