Her dominance in the game was in  the 2002 French Open as well as the 2003 Australia Open, where she won all four major singles titles. Serena Williams won them especially in the finals against her elder sister Venus Williams.

She won the non-calendar Grand Slam as well as the Career Grand Slam making them nicknamed it the “Serena Slam”.

At 40, Serena Williams is bowing out of tennis,a game which she says she wants to be remembered as a fighter.

Her last game was a loss to Ajla Tomljanovic. This is what she had to say.

“Clearly I’m still capable,” Williams told reporters after her loss. “But it takes a lot more than that. I’m ready to be a mom, explore a different version of Serena. Technically in the world, I’m still super young, so I want to have a little bit of a life while I’m still walking. I have such a bright future ahead of me.

“The fight, I’m such a fighter,” she said when asked how she wanted to be remembered following her third-round loss.“I feel like I really brought something to tennis, a different look, the fist pumps, the just crazy intensity. Passion is a really good word.”

There are reports that she wants to go in acting. Others say she will pursue a career in fashion.

On the question of acting, this is what Williams had to say in an interview with vanity Fair.

“I don’t know if I have time, to be honest. It takes so much time and so much dedication.”

Then she added “I think anything I would want to do, I would be really good at it or release the best that I can do in but practicing it and you know, do that but my time is a little short now but I would play an action hero because clearly, I should be an action hero.”
