Who is Gary Doyle?
He is a 27 year old man.
He is from Kinallen Road, Ballyward, Castlewellan, Newry, Co Down.
He is said to be a “designated driver”.
He is being charged with an assault on a garda during Garth Brooks concert.
He is said to have been accused of section 3 assault and causing harm against the officer who is a member of An Garda Siochana.
He was arrested at 10.05 pm at Croke Park, Dublin 3 and appeared before a Dublin’s District court.
Gary Doyle is said to have started that he did not do it.
His solicitor told the court that his client is innocent.
The solicitor added that his client was “sober at all times” and that he was “confident” that CCTV footage from the scene will actually prove that “he wasn’t the assailant.”
Gary Doyle granted bail with a lodgement of €1,000.
There was no objection against bail when his solicitor requested for it.
He was however granted bail after it was confirmed that he was ready to make a cash lodgement of €1,000.
Gary Doyle solicitor stated that his client was “never in any difficulty before.”
The court also asked about the nature of the injury against the injured party, to which Sergeant Murtagh said: “A broken nose.”
He bail was granted and he was to give a phone number to Gardai and he is used that number at all times and can be contacted with it.
He was reminded that he was granted bail on these terms. He is expected back in court on 10th October.
