Darya Dugin is the daughter of Aleksandr Dugin, an ally of Russian President. Darya Dugina is a popular journalist in Russia and is said to be vocal in supporting the invasion of Ukraine.
Darya Dugina was sanctioned by both the US and the UK authorities in the early part of this year. They accused her of contributing to online “disinformation” in relation to Russia’s invasion.
Ms Dugin is said to have described the Ukraian war as a “clash of civilisations”.
She also boldly said she was proud that she and her father had been sanctioned by the West.
The BBC reports that “Investigators confirmed that Darya Dugina died at the scene near the village of Bolshiye Vyazemy”.
It has been reported that an explosive device was planted under the car on the driver’s side. It went off causing the vehicle catch fire. Forensic and explosive experts have been deployed and they are investigating.
