SHS 3 students of Kongo SHS have been asked to pay GHs421.00 over damages done to school properties.
This is a directive to the managers of the Kongo-based school. The directive comes from the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES).
This comes after the recommendations made by the committee that was set up to investigate the disturbances in the school and find solutions to them.
Earlier in the year, some worried parents complained about the charges that were levied on their wards by the management of the school.
They were asked to pay GHS429.00, which was the cost of damage to school properties.
However, A1radioonline.com is reporting that they have sighted a letter from the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service “approving the recommendation in the investigation report to surcharge all final year students for causing damage to school properties during the students’ riot on June 6th, 2022.”
The directive further added that students should pay the said amount before the end of the examination on September 23,2022.
