The suspected murderer did like he was going to stop and when troopers got closed, he sped off.
The officers who approached the suspect car where on foot and could not chase him immediately he took off.
The officers(state troopers ) had to use a PIT maneuver to stop the driver at a point near the Flat Shoals road and this forced him to enter the woods.
He refused to cooperate with officers as they tried talking to him peacefully.
A witness by name Delbert Sanders told Fox 5 that when the suspect refused, the Georgia State Patrol officer K9 Figo was sent out into the woods.
It was sent to sort of “coax the man out”. Sanders added that “A couple minutes after they sent the dog into the woods you started to hear gunfire.”
The suspect then fired on officer K9 Figo a number of times and this forced troopers and their deputies to open fire on the suspect.
He was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting.
