Odike is in trouble as he incurs the wrath of Manhyia palace. The Founder and Leader of United Progressive Party, Akwasi Addai ‘Odike’ troubles with Manhyia Palace in Kumasi comes from his comments on the role of chiefs in illegal mining.
This has angered some chiefs of the Kumasi Traditional Council. The angry chiefs are being led by the Bantamahene, Baffour Owusu Amankwatia VI.
They chiefs on Friday performed rituals to ostensibly banish Odike from Manhyia.
The businessman turned politician was guest on Kumasi-based Oyerepa Fm.

In the programme he criticized the chiefs greatly for what he called their failure to help end the galamsey menace.
They chief said the politician is inciting the youth to rise up and demonstrate against them if they fail to come clear on their roles in or stance against illegal mining.
The comments of the politician are deemed to be distasteful and unsubstantiated.
It has also meant to dent the image of highly esteemed Manhyia.
They chief say his words are disrespectful and have thus slaughtered a ram in a traditional rites.
This ritual is to prevail on the gods to help resist any rebellion against Asante Kingdom.
It is expected that the politician will go begging and will be forced to perform certain rites if the revered chiefs will accept his apology.
