Mion Lana Abdulai Mahamadu has died; Dagbon in shock.
Paramount Chief of Mion, Mion Lana Abdulai Mahamadu has died according to confirmed information available to an online portal.
He died in the early hours of Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra where he was on admission receiving treatment.
Details of the cause of death remain sketchy but the unfortunate incident has left the entire Dagbon State in shock and mourning royal rites currently ongoing at his palace.
Sources reveal the Mion Lana who is one of the prominent chiefs in the Dagon State will be buried at the royal mausoleum in accordance with the customs and traditions of the area.
He was born in 1974 and became Boling-Lana at the age of 14, a day after his father was laid to rest.
He was then made to stay indoors for over 30 years without seeing daylight, until it was time for him to be enskinned as the paramount chief of the Mion traditional council on the 3rd of March 2019.
Various tributes have been pouring in from indigenes of Dagbon who are distraught over his death.
At the time of filing this report, funeral dirges were being performed at the palace.
