He is the son of Lesley, his mother. James William Goodman moved with his mother Lesley to Isle of Wight, which is her mother’s place.

Her ex-husband used to manage the Black Sabbath band. Their relationship was a long one. They however broke up. This made Lesley, who is mother of Len Goodman only son to move back to her native place.
