Who is Carol Kirkwood?
Carol Kirkwood is a Scottish weather presenter who was trained by the Met Office. She worked with the BBC on the famous BBC Breakfast.
The famous weather presenter took part in the 13th series of the BBC one’s strictly Come Dancing. Carol Kirkwood placed 10th in that competition.
She was born on 29th May,1962 and is one of eight children of her parents. Her parents were hoteliers in Morar and Carol attended Lochaber High school and Napier College of commerce and Technology.
Kirkwood joined the BBC’s secretarial reserve in London, where she had to present short slots on BBC Radio Scotland. She also worked with BBC Radio2 and Radio 4.
Carol Kirkwood left the BBC after her marriage with Jimmy Kirkwood. She worked briefly at a management consultancy before moving to now defunct Windor TV.
Carol Kirkwood came back to the BBC at the corporation’s Elstree Studios training department in 1993 where she worked as a freelancer presenter.

Kirkwood came back to the UK operations in 1996 specifically at the The Weather Channel. After the closure of the weather Channel, Kirkwood underwent training and returned to BBC News in 1998 still as a weather presenter.

Carol and Jimmy kirkwood divorced in 2008. The weather star Kirkwood announced her engagement to her new partner on a live BBC Breakfast. It was on the Chelsea Flower Show, on 23 May 2022.
