A 20 year old man, Anthony Yendor has gone berserk in Tampaala, a suburb of Jirapa in the Upper West Region. The young man has thrown the community into a state of shock. He has pounded three women to death last Sunday.
The three women are his direct relatives. The deceased women were Bozomo Yendor, 60, the mother of Anthony Yendor; Rebecca Yendor, 22, and Cynthia Dabuo, 45 — his sisters.

A fourth person who is a male infant of eight months survived the attack, but is seriously wounded. The eight months old boy was strapped behind her mother while she was under the violent attack. The boy is on admission at the Jirapa Saint Joseph Hospital.
The infant Francis Dabuo, is the son of Cynthia, one of the three deceased women.
The police in the area has confirmed the incident in an interview with the Daily Graphic in Wa.
Narrating the story, the Regional Crime Officer, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Reynolds Manteaw, said the incident happened on Sunday around 8:00 p.m.
He said Anthony Yendor, is an illegal gold miner who returned from a drinking spot in town.
After his return, he rushed into his mother’s kitchen and picked a pestle.
He then pounced on the victims and started pounding them without any provocation.
ACP Reynolds Manteaw said, it took the intervention of sympathizers who rushed to the scene after hearing of the the assault to arrest him.
He was then handed over to the police.He indicated that they were investigating the incident, and would arraign him in due course.
