ITV legend Bob Hall dies as ‘shocked’ friends and viewers pay tribute

Who was Bob Hall?
Celebrated and popular ITV star and Sky Sports presenter Bob Hall has died.
Bob Hall shot to prominence following his appearance on Jeff Stelling’s Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports.
Bob’s days in ITV central dates back in 1981. Following his success coverage of ruby for Yorkshire and Grenada stations. Gary Newbon then recruited him to be part of the Central’s sports team. He also regularly contributed to Soccer saturday on Sky Sports as a freelancer.
Bob Hall was among the few recruited for the Birmingham broadcasting venture-Big Centre TV. He however stopped broadcasting only for a year and returned in Made in Birmingham, which is a satellite show.
The presenter also worked as the presenter of the BBC series Pebble Mill.
‘shocked’ friends and viewers pay tribute
His friends, colleagues and fans have been pouring tributes in his honour. Popular Broadcasters Bob Warman and Gary Newbon have also paid tributes to him. It was Gary Newbon who recruited Bob Hall to News central.
Gary told Birmingham Live: “It’s a huge shock, we’re all stunned.
Bob Warman said he was “one of the best”, adding: “He was truly a very, very fine broadcaster.”He was a tremendous ad-libber.

The cause of death of the popular Presenter and freelancer is not immediately known.
