“Most Chiefs are engaged in galamsey. Otumfuo can summon me and I will be able to call out their names one after the other” Prophet Eric Nana Amponsah has said.
The Kumasi Traditional Council had revealed that Chiefs in the region have no idea about the mining activities going on currently in their jurisdiction.

As a result, the Manhyia Palace also claimed that the Chiefs have no power to regulate mining activities, especially in the region adding that, they have no control over the certification of mining concessions.
But Computer Man as he is affectionately called insisted that chiefs in the region cannot be innocent of the galamsey menace that has destroyed most of the water bodies and forest reserves in the region.
He accused the Chiefs of not accepting the fact that what businessman Akwasi Addai Odike said was true but rather accused him of disrespecting Manhyia and Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
“Where is the truth? Some of the chiefs must be very careful with the interpretation of the law ”, he advised
