Who was Matt King Meow?
Matt King is the co-founder and Senior Creative Director of Santa Fe-based art collective Meow Wolf. He was born in 1985 in his native place of Arlington, Texas.
His childhood colleagues and friends said he had interest in arts. Matt King Meows later stayed briefly in Santa Fe, in New Mexico.
His career started as an abstract expressionist painter. He equally taught as grade- school teacher in local Dallas -Fort Worth at the time the famous character was in Texas.

Matt King meow together with one other founded the Meow wolf and even went ahead to co-develop as many as 34 projects with the firm.

The company he co-founded announced his death.
“The Meow Wolf community is devastated and in absolute shock by the sudden passing of Meow Wolf co-founder, artist, and dearest friend Matt King. Our thoughts and condolences go out to his family, friends, and everyone who knows and loves him,” wrote Meow Wolf.
“Matt’s work as both a collaborator and artist was like no other: monumental, groundbreaking, otherworldly, and wild. This is a tremendous loss to the world. And we are tremendously grateful to have shared time and space with him,” the statement continued.
“Matt’s spirit will live on in our collective heart. We will continue to honor him by carrying his brilliance forward in our work and in our everyday lives. We love you Matt.” the statement concluded.
However deep sources revealed that Matt King died a sudden and unexpected death on Saturday, July 9, 2022.
The actual sudden and unexpected has not been revealed. Many have speculated that he committed suicide, however, the Meow Wolf and Matt’s family have decided to keep the further details about the incident private.
