Horror as drunk ex-cricket player Steven Selwood knocks down a cyclist and crushed her under his 4×4 car.
What shocked many is the ex-cricket player courage to drive on after knocking her down.
He went ahead to drive on crushing the poor cyclist beneath the “wheels of his 4×4 without stopping”.
Who is the victim of Steven Selwood?
The victim who survived in this shocking incident is a woman in her 70s.
She is said to have survived with what has been said to be physical and life changing damages.
The victim’s injuries include “life-changing physical and mental injuries”. She agreed for the footage to be shared as way of educating the masses of the dangers of drunk driving.
Steven Selwood who who was drunk 5 times above the level allowed continue to drive on till he was stopped by a member of the public.

He had to walk back to the scene to see the horror he caused. He was then arrested by the police after a someone identified him.

The victim who was lucky to have survived spoke about how she is unable to do most things for herself. She added that she is now afraid to go near traffic.
She said: “My sense of loss is deep, my trust in my world evaporated, my sense of hope gone.
“Not a night goes by without nightmares. My life has changed considerably since I was knocked down off my cycle.
“I was never frightened of traffic like I am today, absolutely terrified with a strong feeling it’s going to happen again.
“My worst fear now is that my left leg will not hold me up through weakness which is happening more so these days plus my mental state is not too good.
“I don’t laugh anymore. I get overwhelmed with the everyday occurrences, not being able to deal with multiple issues.”
Sergeant Joe McGregor who is an investigating officer said : “This footage is shocking to watch but it may serve as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by those who choose to drink and drive.
“The victim in this case has been left with lifelong physical and mental scars and has bravely said she wants her case to be a warning to anyone who thinks that it is acceptable to drive whilst under the influence.
“It isn’t. You are putting your life and the lives of others at risk.
“Alcohol limits are there for a reason and if you know someone is driving while over the limit or after taking drugs, then call 999.”
Who is Steven Selwood?
He is a former cricket player. The 43year old player made as many as 25 first-class appearances for Derbyshire.
This was between 2001 and 2004. He played as a left handed batsman. Selwoo made as many as 901 runs for the county and is regarded as one with a high score of 99.


Selwood was banned from driving for 3 years. This was after he was “found guilty of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving whist over the alcohol limit”.
