She became the youngest student to be admitted to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology at age 13 and graduated at age 17.

The dream of Ruth  Ama Gyan-Darkwa is to work at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in the United States.

Ruth Ama Gyan Darkwa is a former St. Louis Senior High School student.

She attended both the Abraham Lincoln Junior High School and the Christ Our Hope International schools bot of which are in Kumasi, Ghana.

She is said to sometimes spend a term or two in a class, before moving to the next class due to her unusual ability to grasp things fast.

She is said to be from a home of Mathematicians as her father is at Prempeh College.

Ruth Ama said:“I was able to overcome the many challenges because God saw me through, and I looked to him at all times. Also, I had my eyes focused on the end goal. Some of my course mates felt intimidated because they thought I was too brilliant. Others wondered if I was cut for the journey. All these brought me to the point of questioning my potential but found solace in how far I have come, the support I received and the future that awaits me.”
