What is the global corruption index?
According to the Trading economics, Corruption Perceptions Index ranks countries and territories based on how corrupt their public sector is perceived to be. A country or territory’s score indicates the perceived level of public sector corruption on a scale of 0 (highly corrupt) to 100 (very clean).

In 2021, Ghana scored 43 points out of 100 on the 2021 Corruption Perceptions Index and the report is according to the Transparency International.
Ghana is 73rd on the global corruption index.
This puts Ghana on the 73rd on the Corruption Perceptions Index in 2021. It was a tied with countries such as Hungary, Kuwait, Senegal and the Solomon Islands.
The report further added that it is a great obstacle in doing business in Ghana and mostly occurs in locally funded contracts and that companies are subject to bribes if they want to operate in rural areas.
