Fetntuo Tahiru exits Citi FM after rising to become editor of the sports department.

Fentuo Tahiru, a former teacher and celebrated Sports Journalist and head of Citi Sports has  indicated that he is no more with the  Accra-based Media entity.

The Sports Journalist revealed this in a social media post in which he expressed how grateful, he was with his former employer for giving him the opportunity.

He said the opportunity given him made him to learn and grow his craft adding that the years spent there were some of the amazing times in his life.

” I’ll like to say thank you to @Citi973/@CitiTVGH for an amazing last 5 years. It’s been a wonderful place to learn and grow and I’m grateful for all the opportunities the platform afforded me. It’s been an honor and a privilege. Thank you so so much”.

The Journalist came to Citi from his based at Ultimate FM in Kumasi, some five years ago. The Citi team spotted the journalist when he led an impressive coverage of the 2014 World cup by the Kumasi based Ultimate radio.

Fentuo Tahiru before his resignation was the sports editor for the vibrant media entity.

But what is Citi getting wrong in  its sports department?

Aside Nathan Quao who was given managerial role after heading the sports department, the other two before him had to leave the Adabraka based station.

We remember Sam Batters, he had to leave at the time he was on top of the sports department. Gary Al-Smith had to dump Citi for Joy.

The Citi Team has been a solid team  over the years, but it appears there may be cracks in the team. With Notable names like Jessica, Akanya Ofori among others giving way, the station have to up its game if it wants to still occupy the top spot.
