Though not much is known of the content of the letter conveying news of his transfer, it is likely it has to do with the recent disturbances that led to the closure of the Bolgatanga based technical institute.

He is reported to have been transferred to a community technical Institute in Tumu in the Upper West region.

This is a clear demotion of the principal and it is yet to be known what his role was in the recent disturbances.

Botech has a history of demostrations and vandalism. It is not clear what happened in this recent one that the principal of the Institute has been axed in this bizarre manner.

It is this unpleasant news that nearly drove the students onto the streets to protest on Monday morning.

They held placards one of of which read ” No Dady, no class”.

They reported told A1 News “The Principal is our father and we don’t want to lose our father that is why we said we would not do anything in the school today until they change that decision. The reason they want to take him away is because of our seniors’ demonstration and he doesn’t know anything about it and they want to remove so we wouldn’t agree.”

“The only thing is that we don’t want our Principal to go, because the reason they want the principal to go is baseless and we would make sure that no students would take part in anything. And we would also write a letter to the Regional Minister and if we don’t hear anything we the students would close down the school,”one of them said.
