Big Brother star Brian Dowling and his husband have welcomed a baby daughter via surrogacy.
The baby girl, named Blake Maria Rose Dowling Gourounlian, was born on September 1, Brian, 44, and Dancing with the Stars judge Arthur Gourounlian, 42, announced today.
The bundle of joy, and the pair’s first child, was carried by Brian’s sister, Aoife.
On Instagram, the happy couple announced the news as they wrote: “Please be upstanding for the arrival of our BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER Blake Maria Rose Dowling Gourounlian. Yes people another BDG.
“Blake was delivered safely on Thursday September 1st at 14:52pm weighting 7lb 4ozs. We @gourounlian are ABSOLUTELY TOTALLY IN LOVE with her & can’t believe she’s here & is ours.”
The pair went on to thank their unknown donor and Aoife for her gift, writing: “None of this would have been possible without our donor, a woman we have never met or even seen a picture of but has given us the GIFT OF LIFE.
“Now, where do we even start with you @effidy_dowling_ you are a SAINT to us & we will FOREVER be GRATEFUL to you for the REST OF OUR LIVES. Baby Blake can’t wait for her Aunty Aoife to spoil her.”
Alongside the sweet post, the pair shared a picture of themselves with Blake, showing Brian cradling the newborn in his arms as he wore a surgical robe.
They also shared a candid image taken moments after Blake’s birth, as Aoife is surrounded by medical staff and Brian and Arthur sit by her, holding her hand and arm supportively.
Brian revealed in June that Aoife was carrying the baby, and that he always wanted to be a dad.
The former Big Brother host, recalled the moment Aoife made the generous offer in 2020, while a guest on the Made by Mammas podcast.
