Who is Bert Fields?

He is an American Lawyer, teacher, musician and actor. He was born on 31st March, 1929. Bert Fields education and his early years is not known much.

His legal career was mostly in the entertainment field. Bert Field represented Bob Weinstein in his famous sexual harassment allegations  by the Mist film Producer Amanda Segel. Amanda Segel had worked for Weinstein  in the Weinstein’s Dimension Films.

Fields who was Weinstein’s lawyer denied all allegations against his client indicating “It is absolutely not true” and “What she is claiming is bogus” and that “There was nothing that came anywhere near sexual harassment”.

He further argued “That’s not Bob Weinstein. It’s Harvey Weinstein, but it sure as hell isn’t Bob Weinstein. I’ve known him for many years. It’s all because of what Harvey’s done”

Bert Fields represented Tom Cruise in which he stated that the unauthorized biography (by British author Andrew Morton) was full of “tired old lies” or “sick stuff.”

You will recall that Drew Pinsky in an interview  with Playboy in 2008 stated that his beliefs  that Tom Cruise was “drawn into a cultish kind of environment like Scientology,” He said Tom Cruise was likely to have emotional problems  “To me, that’s a function of a very deep emptiness and suggests serious neglect in childhood — maybe some abuse, but mostly neglect.”

Bert Fields who was Cruise lawyer  responded by calling Pinsky an “unqualified television performer”.

He further likened Pinsky to  the Nazi Joseph Goebbels, saying, “He seems to be spewing the absurdity that all Scientologists are mentally ill. The last time we heard garbage like this was from Joseph Goebbels.”

The cause of death of the 93 year old lawyer is not known. It is possible he died due to old age. Bert Fields died today 8th August 2022.

Bert Fields is survived by  his son James , grandson, Michael Lane Fields and a granddaughter, Annabelle Fields.
