A Malian woman who gave birth to nine children sets a record for having them survive for a year.

The Malian couple with nine babies has now achieved the Guinness World Records title for being the most children delivered at a single birth to survive. This enviable title was previously held by Nadya Suleman (USA), aka “Octomom”, in 2009, with eight babies born. This is what their father, Abdelkader Arby, told the BBC in an interview.

“They’re all crawling now.” “Some are sitting up and can even walk if they hold on to something.”

Although he admits “it’s not easy,” Abdelkader is happy to see “all the babies in perfect health.”

The famous nine children have not left the Moroccan clinic where they were born to their father, Abdelkader Arby, and their 26-year-old mother, Halima Cissé.

The nonuplets are currently living in a specially-equipped flat which is owned by the clinic. Nurses are always handy in helping to care for Mrs. Cissé and her nine babies, and they are put on a strict diet for them to ensure they receive all the nutrients they require.
