A 37-year-old woman by name Hellen Tetteh has delivered a set of five babies(quintuplets) at the St Martin’s de Porres hospital at Agormanya in the Eastern region Ghana.

The woman delivered the quintuplets through the Caesarian section on Wednesday morning July 13, 2022.
The five babies were delivered during their third trimester and are in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Though stable, the health officials are of the view that it will help them to gain more weight before being discharged together with the mother.
The mother, Hellen Tettey has female twins already and lost her first husband.
She has since remarry to her current husband with whom she has what could be a blessing or cursing.
Miss Hellen said she was quite surprised to deliver quintuplets because a scan she did previously indicated they were triplets. This gives her seven girls in just two births. This is remarkable and astonishing.

She has however expressed her excitement about the gift of the womb but appealing for public support to help take care of the babies.
According to a Clinical Coordinator at the St. Martins De Pores Hospital,Dr Bansah Miriam Theodora whom spoke to the media that indicated that “The midwives called me on phone this evening that a pregnant woman has been brought in but her SFH was more than 35 which was 50cm. So we went to do emergency CS she delivered five female babies that is quintuplets.
“The babies are doing well in incubators the mother is doing well. I am happy because this is my first time delivering quintuplets. They are currently in Neonatal Intensive care unit doing everything for them to improve their weight which is now less than 1KG we are hoping to help them gain more weight at least 1.8kg or 2KG before we discharge them”
History of quintuplets in Ghana.
Ghana have history of quintuplets. On 9th November, 2020, there was a report of of quintuplets. It was one Vera Nana Yaa Amoateng, of Tema Community 1 Assembly of The Church of Pe ntecost. Vera Nana had given birth to a set of five children after enduring eight years of marriage without children.
Earlier in 2019, there was a remarkable story of a 45-year-old known as Maame Cynthia was showered with a bundle of joy. It was a quintuplets which were of two girls and three boys at Sam-J Specialist Hospital at Haatso, Accra in Ghana.
Her case was similar to that of Vera Nana Yaa Amoateng as she was in dare need of children after 20 years of marriage.
